The Global Stock Challenge Is Now Being Offered To All North American & International Schools. Register Now and Have Your School Teams Compete Globally For Next Semester!
The Global Stock Challenge stock market simulation is now available for all North American, International, ECIS, NAIS and affiliated schools to use in class room as a means of raising their student’s financial literacy skills. The GSMS is also known as the global stock market simulation and is now available to use beginning February 11th, 2009 thru to April 18th, 2009. The GSMS is a fun and easy to use web based teacher-led classroom activity that is driven and underpinned by financial lesson plans provided by The National Council of Economic Education in the United States.
The programme will assist you and your students to impart important financial planning basics being introduced for social studies, intro to business and economics classes each year to learn the basics of investing and how to save. The programme works by having student teams act as portfolio managers with access to $100,000 in virtual funds buying and selling real securities from 20 global exchanges.
The fees to use the GSMS are only $19, 95 per student team for the 10 week simulation. Teams are required to select and research groups of industries to invest in such as package goods, mining, transportation or financial services industries. Give reasons why and execute a buy and hold strategy just as if they were managing a pension fund using the GSMS trading engine. The GSMS site is easy to use and functions like a real live brokerage account with charts and research links including rankings, summary balances, open positions and their transactions history.
The GSMS is presently in use by approximately 150,000 students in partnership with 15 state councils from the National Council on Economic Education in the United States. The GSMS is the International Schools version of the highly acclaimed National SMS operated by The Stock-Trak Group. The Stock-Trak Group has been a leader in portfolio simulations since 1990 with its academic portfolio simulations presently in use at over 1100 universities in 50 countries by 200,000 students each year.
